Occupation and/or Company: Artistic Director, Rumble Theatre / Artistic Producer, Pandemic Theatre / Artist & Facilitator
Years of experience: 10 years

Personal & professional philosophy:
My artistic philosophy is to make art accessible wherever possible so that there is more diversity in understanding how society could be recreated. Hopefully that encourages the possibility of altogether new ways of thinking and experiencing the world. But also – to be a bit less theoretical – I think we should be always shaking each other up so that we know where we stand. And Humour makes that a lot more palatable.

Upcoming performances/ project:
Take d Milk, Nah? – happening at the Cultch in October 2019 before going on a National Tour through 2020. Rumble will be presenting a piece called “Good Morning Viet*Mom” this January at Progress Lab 1422. I’ll be directing the Canadian Premiere of “B” by Guillermo Calderón with Rumble at the Havana Theatre in the spring.

What is the highlight of your work?
I care a lot about the experience people have in coming to my shows, and I genuinely like talking to them about the topics I’m putting forward.

Future goals:
I’m very into working on Caribbean representation in the arts. I think we’re a very unique and diverse people and we often get overshadowed by larger diasporas that don’t fully encapsulates what we’re about.
