Age: 31
Ethnicity: Punjabi-Canadian
Occupation and/or Company: Media Artist, Sound Designer, Composer, Performer, Educator.
Years of experience: 7 years

Personal & professional philosophy:
My art is centered around the body, and how mediated technologies shape our individual and collective cultural memories and spaces that we take up. Technology has been integrated into every part of our lives, but technology is not neutral. Through my artistic work, I show how technology can be used as a tool for critical expression.

Upcoming performances/ project:
UNION is a trans-media speculative sci-fi exhibition co-created with Nancy Lee taking place at Richmond Art Gallery from April 24 – June 5th. The narrative is set in the year 3000, where the nation state has collapsed, viral air pollution limits habitable space and cyberwarfare has led to a complete cultural reset. Humanity doesn’t remember the past nor do people remember their cultural ancestry. For more information, visit www.union.land

What is the highlight of your work?
Every project is an opportunity to learn a new skill set revolving around new and emerging technologies. A big highlight has been learning from, and nurturing these relationships and how collaborators and colleagues flourish into long lasting friendships.

Future goals:
I want to be able to bring UNION abroad and see how the exhibit is received in Indian and Taiwan, the home countries of myself and Nancy Lee.
